A unit that runs this much will show noticeably reduced performance within 4–5 months without servicing — higher electricity bills, weaker cooling, and increased risk of leaks.

Commercial units typically run 8–12 hours daily, often in dusty environments (retail, workshops) or with higher occupancy (offices with many people generating CO₂, moisture, and particulates). The cost of a commercial unit failing mid-day — in lost productivity, customer discomfort, or spoiled goods — far exceeds the cost of regular servicing.
For offices with 3 or more units, we recommend an annual maintenance contract, which locks in a fixed rate and includes priority scheduling.
A new unit should have its first service at the 3-month mark. This isn't because it's dirty — it's to verify the installation is performing correctly: refrigerant levels are right, the drain is working, and there are no early signs of installation issues (like the unit tilting or brackets loosening).
After the first service, move to the standard quarterly schedule. Catching any installation issues early prevents them from becoming expensive problems later.

Regular Service vs. Chemical Wash — What's the Difference?
It's worth understanding the distinction, since both come up in any servicing conversation:
A regular service (from RM80) covers filter removal and washing, coil spray-down with water, drain line check, fan inspection, and a performance test. This is your quarterly maintenance — it keeps a well-maintained unit running efficiently.
A chemical wash goes further: the indoor unit is partially disassembled, and the evaporator coil is cleaned with a specialised chemical solution that breaks down biofilm, mould, and mineral deposits that water alone can't remove. Recommended once a year, or whenever a unit smells musty even after a regular service.
Think of it this way: a regular service is like washing your car. A chemical wash is like a full detail — necessary periodically, not every time.
